Release Date Announced For Criminal Minds Season 8 DVD Set

CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment have announced that the Criminal Minds Season 8 DVD set will be released on September 3rd.

The Set will include Behind The Scenes Featurettes, Deleted Scenes, and a Gag Reel. No word yet on what features will include Matthew Gray Gubler. Here’s hoping for a Zugzwang Commentary ;) . We will keep you posted as we learn more.

“The Learning Curve” Takes Grand Prize At The New Media Film Festival

We’ve just learned from Director/Writer Phil McCarty, that “The Learning Curve” took Grand Prize at last night’s New Media Film Festival.

Congratulations everyone. 84 films from 17 countries were submitted to the 4th annual New Media Film Festival. 

Ours was deemed “Best in Show” and won the Grand Prize.

The short film starring Matthew Gray Gubler and directed by Phil McCarty, and produced by Phree Swearingen, is an adaptation of a story entitled “The Learning Curve” by author David Sedaris. It can be found in his collection of essays entitled “Me Talk Pretty One Day”. Matthew plays Sedaris as he recalls his job teaching a writing workshop while being highly unqualified.

I wouldn’t normally promote a video where Matthew Gray Gubler gets hurt, however the way the infamous knee injury happened is just beyond epic! Shortly after filming 500 Days Of Summer, Matthew, the amazing Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Geoffrey Arrend, and Director Marc Webb, all armed with flip cams spend a night out in LA. TV Guide’s Mega Buzz recently gave the scoop on what to expect on a number of popular shows this upcoming season, including Spencer and Rossi’s love lives on Criminal Minds.

ADAM: If you didn’t like Reid dating last season, don’t worry — he’ll remain single and not mingling for the foreseeable future. “He feels like he’s still with Maeve and that would feel like a betrayal to Maeve, so we’re not going to go there this year,” showrunner Erica Messer says. Also staying single? Rossi, who lost his hookup buddy Strauss. “But I wouldn’t rule out meeting another one of his wives,” Messer teases.

Personally, I’m happy to hear they are not rushing into another relationship with Spencer. He is so guarded with his feelings that I couldn’t see him immediately falling for somebody. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

As we all know, Matthew Gray Gubler  is spending some time in New England before filming of Criminal Minds begins filming Season 9 next week. Apparantly on his flight he made quite the impression on  Michael, and was nice enough to take this photo with him. Michael is now a fan of not only Matthew, but now owns the Criminal Minds set. Today was the first day of filming on Criminal Minds Season 9, and it was a welcome sight to see so many new pictures of our favorite profiler hit the web! The cast, in the middle of filming episode 9.1 “The Inspiration” , written by Janine Sherman Barrois, can be seen in the Round Table room, in the Jet, and just goofing off with each other. It seems somebody got another haircut, and he is rocking it as usual!

Matthew Gray Gubler To Appear In “Life After Beth”

According to the IMDB Page, Matthew Gray Gubler has been added to the cast of Life After Beth, playing Kyle Orfman. Here is a synopsis of the film and cast from The Hollywood Reporter.

Paul Reiser has joined the cast of Life After Beth, an indie horror comedy being made by Jeff Baena, writer of David O. Russell’s 2004 film I Heart Huckabees.

Beth, which Baena also wrote, stars Dane DeHaan as a young man who struggles to continue his relationship with his girlfriend Beth, being played by Aubrey Plaza, after she resurrects from the dead.

Reiser will be playing DeHaan’s father. (John C. Reilly is already on board as Plaza’s dad.)

The movie began production this week in Los Angeles.

More Cast Added To Life After Beth

As we previously reported, Matthew Gray Gubler has signed on to appear in the Zombie Comedy “Life After Beth“. Deadline is reporting more cast has been added to the flick which is currently in production.

As flicks about the undead continue to disinter, Anna Kendrick, Molly Shannon and Cheryl Hines have boarded I Heart Huckabees writer Jeff Baena’s directorial debut. Shooting is underway in Los Angeles on Life After Beth, which stars Amazing Spider-Man 2 heavy Dane DeHaan as a guy mourning the death of his girlfriend (Aubrey Plaza). But when Beth comes back to life, he tries tolive their relationship to the fullest — until things take a turn for the much worse. John C. Reilly, Paul Reiser and Matthew Gray Gubler in the pic, which Baena also wrote. Liz Destro and Michael Zakin are producing the film alongside American Zoetrope, Starstream Entertainment, and Abbolita Pictures. Charles Bonan, Tim Nye, and Kim Leadford exec produce. CAA and WME are co-repping the domestic rights to the pic.
